Continuation of Joint Research with Professor Yoshiaki Kudo of Takushoku University in FY2026 (iNexus Inc.)

iNexus Inc. / 株式会社インネクサス (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Directors: Rikiei Watanabe and Zhenbin Zhang; hereinafter “iNexus”), an EdTech startup operating a STEM+C** education platform, will continue its joint research with Professor Yoshiaki Kudo of Takushoku University in fiscal year 2026. Having concluded this fiscal year’s joint research agreement in June, we are pleased to announce that the initiative begun last fiscal year will be carried forward.

Since welcoming Professor Kudo to our advisory board as a “Design Advisor” in June 2025, iNexus has pursued joint research that bridges education and design. This fiscal year as well, we will continue to advance our research together with Professor Kudo and apply his insights to our inquiry into the ideal form of education.

In Japan’s current primary and secondary education, one-directional instruction from educators still predominates. While knowledge is acquired, a challenge remains: abilities such as “application,” “creativity,” “expression,” and “collaboration” are not easily nurtured. Against this backdrop, we believe it is essential to redesign inquiry-based, collaborative learning environments—in which children “think for themselves and work through challenges in cooperation with others”—from the perspectives of social design and community design.

Under the theme “Research on teaching-material design suited to workshop-based algorithm education for communities of children in special-needs classes and in primary and secondary education,” this joint research will, while incorporating a perspective that connects education and society, jointly explore the design of teaching materials and learning methods that help cultivate children’s logical thinking and strengthen their problem-solving abilities.

In addition to his expertise in the history of design, Professor Kudo is engaged in practical research and social contribution—supporting community education and cultural activities with Hachioji City as his field, from the perspectives of community-design support and integrated studies. His research themes include design proposals grounded in regional studies, support for community activities, and design proposals for future community development, through which he pursues initiatives aimed at improving the quality of learning.

Going forward, together with Professor Kudo and the Kudo Laboratory, we will design and implement effective learning models based on data analysis such as the results of field-implementation testing, aiming to build educational environments suited to younger learners. We also plan to understand and analyze the ideal form of education from the perspectives of “community design” and “social design,” and to jointly develop and roll out new-era IT education services accordingly.

**What is STEM+C? To “STEM” — the initials of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — are added the “4 Cs” advocated as essential in the 21st century: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication. To these, iNexus adds Contact — the hands-on, experiential learning we especially value — for a new educational approach built on five “+C”s.
