Toward a Future in Bloom.
In the age of AI, what matters most is not the amount of knowledge, but the ability to think algorithmically. iNexus Inc. is an education-technology company based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, nurturing children’s thinking skills through education and technology — a bridge to a future where every child can bloom. From learning materials and apps grounded in joint research with universities to contract development of education and healthcare systems, we keep building technology that stays close to the places where learning happens.

In programming education for primary and secondary school students, this research studies methods for detecting learning states such as stumbling and stagnation, and changes in motivation, by analyzing operation logs from the program-building process together with facial expressions and various biometric signals. Based on the results, we develop learning-support and teaching-support systems that provide appropriate assistance to each learner.
Institute for Science & Education (ISE)
Empirical research on the teaching materials and methodologies needed to bring appropriate IT-algorithm education (no-code programming education) to young learners as the primary audience — and also to adolescents, as well as working adults, educators and seniors who wish to strengthen their IT skills.
By developing the educational elements and materials this audience needs, the research aims to raise the level of education supporting Japan’s information society. In programming education in particular, it seeks to overcome the bias toward PC-centered instruction and establish new hands-on, experiential ways of “learning by touch.”
・Since Jun. 2020: Director, Japanese Society for the Science of Design (Chair, Planning Committee)
・Since Sep. 2016: Chair, School Management Council, Hachioji Municipal Takaosan Gakuen
This research aims to foster logical thinking and strengthen problem-solving skills in children in special-needs classes and in primary and secondary education, by developing material designs and learning methods that raise both the effectiveness of and motivation for algorithm education. We study the design of teaching materials, and of learning methods including workshops, that make effective and appropriate learning support for algorithm education possible.
